Hello my friends! I´m sorry I write in English, hope you understand!, I did not take the extended German class when I went to school... I could have used that sooo many times...
My name is Daniel I live in Denmark, and just bought this beauty on a flee marked for 27€. Im working with leather, and for a long time, looking for a old sewing machine.

I have a big heart for German made things, whether it's Cars, tanks, pencils, airbrushes ore sewing machines, you guys makes things for lifetimes!

Well, restoration has started. How do I get the top arm off? There is no bolt on mine:S
Alto, anyone know how to find a manual? I tried google, with no succes.

Hey Daniel - welcome to the forum - and gratulations for the mega flea marked hunt you brought home. Do you mean a user manual or a service Manual?
I found a download link (1,50 Euro) to an international user manual - most downloads that are for free are in german: http://altenaehmaschine.de/Gebrauchsanw ... l-DOWNLOAD
Enjoy your machine ... maybe there are adler owners around who can be more helpful.

Hello 4apples,
welcome Danish dynamite - :lol27:

what a nice catch.
Is this your first Sewing machine??

It's said - time is better than a screwdriver,

Therefore it might be better to clean up the machine before loosening any parts,

Vielleicht kann MichaelF als Übersetzer dienen, er wohnt ja in Dänemark.
Maybe user MichaelF can translate from Danish to German because he's living in Denmark.

Hi, yes, first time! I have cleaned it now. seams to work, but I have know idea of how to thread it.
My brother works in a auto painting shop, so I wanted it cleaned of old paint, painted black, and maybe get the "adler" ind gold again. Restore it to its former glory :D

Well - it is your machine -
however -
it worked all over its life- more or less a hard work - giving it a certain dignity of age -
or what would you think about a human after a hard work life - looking like a fresh born child?

Hey,
The new painting of the old Maschins is not easy, because the original Paint is very thik and the Maschins was droppt into. The Quality of the Steal finish is not for using ouer new Paints.
